How have you learnt from your mistakes?
Without giving away too many negatives, explain a time where you made a mistake but strategically got yourself, or your team, back on track with the desired outcome. Mistakes are there to be learnt from so explain this.
Give an example of your lateral thinking
Interviewers are looking to understand your creative thinking here. Although it’s a very tough question, try to think outside the box about a difficult situation that you worked through methodically.
If you were put in a white room with no windows and doors for 48 hours, what would you do to kill time?
Although this may seem like a pointless question, interviews are looking for you to think on your feet. How do you make something out of nothing?
If you were 70 years old, what would you tell your children?
This question is aimed at your responsible side and how you rank factors within your life. This is almost asking you to evaluate your greatest life lesson. Be holistic and show that you can lead with ideas you suggest.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Although this is a common question asked, it’s one we’re all very much scared to answer. Think logically about where you are in your career and the methodical progression that would take place over the next 5 years. Don’t be too ambitious and scare your interviewer but also don’t come across as being a settler.
