The BFC Announce Update To The Fashion Awards
Although the nominees for the Fashion Awards 2018 are yet to be announced, the British Fashion Council have just released a new edition to this year’s programme. To mark the importance of young creatives globally, the industry will celebrate 100 of the most talented individuals through a new development entitled ‘New Wave: Creatives’.
The 100 trailblazers will include creatives from all corners of the industry; from set-designers to image-makers, creative directors to digital influencers, the programme recognises all talents. In keeping with the global theme, the New Wave: Creatives will be shown via a series of satellite events leading up to the ceremony in London, Shanghai and New York.
The first 20 names, revealed by Caroline Rush, BFC chief executive in Shanghai, include Anny Fan (digital influencer), Chu Wong (model), Fan Qiong (stylist), Fan Zhang (hair stylist), Fil Xiaobai (stylist), Jiali Zhao (model), Jin Jia Ji (photographer), Jing Wen (model), Jumbo Tsui (photographer), Leslie Zhang (photographer), Liang Hengyi (photographer), Luo Yang (photographer), Mia Kong (stylist), Tao Liang, Mr Bags (digital influencer), Ting Chen (model), Wen Zhi (hair stylist), Xin Miao (make-up artist), Yu Cong (photographer/art director), Zeng Wu (photographer) and Ziqian Wang (photographer). More names from the shortlist will be unveiled in London and New York, over the coming weeks.
“The Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski is a celebration of an incredibly diverse industry,” Rush said at The Middle House Shanghai event. “We are delighted to be launching New Wave: Creatives to highlight and celebrate creatives from all around the world, to inspire new collaborations and to encourage an even younger generation to consider the many creative roles that make up the fashion industry and follow in their footsteps.”
